The Album Club is brought to you by Rough Trade, a trusted champion of exciting, new music talent.
We opened our first record shop in 1976, inspired by the punk movement and located right on its doorstep in Notting Hill, London.
Ever since then we’ve made it our mission to help our customers get their hands on the music that matters.
Our historic Notting Hill store, Rough Trade West, is more popular than ever, and Rough Trade East, located just off Brick Lane in East London, is one of the largest music stores in the world. Our website is here.
You can find out plenty more about the legends and myths surrounding Rough Trade at Google. In the meantime, here’s what the press say about us.
"Rough Trade is where you find the stars before they have been groomed, before they even have any idea that they're going to be stars"
THE GUARDIAN
"Its ethos cannot be quantified in
proportion with the humdrum cash
register concerns of your average
record retailer"
UNCUT
"Rough Trade is retail as it was
meant to be – commercial
transactions with the air of gifts"
THE INDEPENDENT ON SUNDAY
"The world’s best record store"
